Clinics and Services
Find out more about the clinics and services we offer.
Clinics
Antenatal Clinic
Antenatal clinics are provided by midwives at Tameside Hospital. A midwife or doctor will provide antenatal care by checking the health of you and your baby, and discussing options surrounding birth.
If you are pregnant and would like to book in with the midwives, please call 0161 922 6159, from Monday to Friday between 1.30pm and 4pm.
Anticoagulant Clinic
Anticoagulants are medicines that help prevent blood clots. These health clinics provide care for patients who suffer from blood clots or are taking oral anticoagulant medication to prevent blood clots.
Asthma Clinic
Asthma clinics review your breathing and inhaler use. If you are already diagnosed with asthma, the clinic will identify the best treatment as well as see if your symptoms are caused by other medical conditions and what can make your asthma worse or better.
Child Immunisation
Child immunisations are given to help fight disease as per the NHS vaccination schedule. Vaccines are given at certain months and years. These include the MMR, PCV, MenB and flu vaccines.
Contraceptive Services
Contraceptive services are always free of charge. Our clinicians will discuss the multiple different types of birth control pills, IUDs or the coil, pessaries and emergency contraception.
COPD Clinic
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is the name for a group of lung conditions that cause breathing difficulties. In the clinic, breathing will be reviewed, and treatment options, including inhalers, will be discussed.
Cryosurgery
Cryotherapy is a method of freezing which uses a substance called liquid nitrogen. A carefully controlled amount of liquid nitrogen is applied to an affected area of skin. This has the effect of freezing the targeted cells and destroying the lesion.
Diabetes Clinic
If you are diabetic, our diabetes clinic will monitor your sugar (glucose) levels and give you specialised advice and treatment to manage your diabetes.
